Spain's Crown Prince Felipe and his wife Princess Letizia arrived on a two-day visit to Bulgaria.
The royal couple was invited to attend the official opening of the Cervantes Institute, the largest Spanish-language-and-culture institution on the Balkans.
This is the couple's first trip abroad after the birth of their daughter Leonor, who is less than four months old.
Bulgaria's President Parvanov and the first lady Zorka Parvanova welcomed the royalties and had dinner later on Thursday. The two couples will open the new institute together on Friday.
In the meantime it was announced that some of the downtown streets in Sofia will be sealed off on Friday on account of the Royal visit. The Saborna street and the Oborishte street will be closed between half past six in the morning and two in the afternoon, according to Sofia municipality.
It is by tradition that Prince Felipe opens the Cervantes institutes abroad.
The Crown Prince of Spain is also to meet Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev.
