Bulgaria Opens Unique Thracian Tomb to Visitors

Visitors can now walk around the real unique Thracian tomb near Bulgaria's Kazanlak for the price of EUR 10, local municipality decided.

Until now entrance in the tomb was only allowed in special occasions and under strict conditions due to the air conditioning installed to preserve the ancient mural-paintings.

The council of the city of roses, as Kazanlak is often called because of its vast rose plantations, decided to change the ticket price for all landmarks. Some of the highlights in the program include additional Thracian tombs unearthed in the Valley of Kings, rose-petal jam and rhakia tasting, and the historical-ethnographical complex "Kulata" (The Tower).
