Three Polish soldiers and an Iraqi child have been lightly injured after a bomb went off near the Echo base in Iraq.

Bulgaria's unit in Iraq is also located in the Echo base, but no Bulgarian soldiers have been injured in the incident.

The explosion took place at about 11 am local time at a road 3 km away from the base, that is headquarters of the Polish commandment in Iraq.

Bulgaria has an infantry unit of 400 soldiers deployed under Polish commandment within the US-led multinational forces in Iraq. The troops are scheduled to leave the country after general elections are held there on December 15.
