America will send 2,700 troops to Bulgaria and another 2,300 to Romania, according to Tuesday's reports.

Media said that the troops should arrive in Bulgaria next year, as part of a US plan for building mobile military bases abroad.

America has eyed the Bulgarian sites of Novo Selo and Bezmer, close to seaside Burgas, the Darik radio said citing AP.

The joint commandment of all 5,000 troops will be based in Romania, the US Deputy Chief of Mission to Bulgaria Jeffrey Levine was cited as saying.

Bulgaria has agreed to host US military bases and has already started negotiations about their location, the government said earlier.
