Bail Denied to Drug Traffic Suspect

Bulgarian court revoked the decision to free a suspected drug trafficker on bail.

Krustyu Krustev, nicknamed Maimunata ("The Monkey"), would have been let out on a EUR 10,000 bail.

But the Plovdiv Appeals Court ruled that Maimunata should stay behind bars until a final decision.

There is evidence that he might be guilty of a serious drug trafficking crime, jurors decided.

They said Krustev could try to escape if let out on bail.
