"It was like in Iraq: first they strike, then they try to see what happened," commented Ivan Slavkov after being expelled from the IOC.
The Bulgarian official said that the International Olympic Committee never really gave him a chance to defend himself.
Slavkov was voted out of the International Olympic Committee Thursday during a session in Singapore.
That means he would also have to vacate the post of President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC).
"I have never seen all members of the IOC Ethics Commission in one place," Slavkov said, cited by Bulgaria's 24 Chasa daily.
Despite Thursday's developments, Ivan Slavkov will be able to keep his job as head of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU). He has been occupying the post for ten years.
