Washington believes Bulgaria will soon have a stable government, with which the US will readily work and cooperate.
With these words US Ambassador James Pardew walked out of a meeting Monday with the Socialist leader Sergey Stanishev at BSP's headquarters.
Bulgarian socialists won the parliamentary elections in the country on Saturday, but did not obtain enough votes to win an absolute majority and form a government.
The most likely coalition is seen to be among the first three political forces entering the parliament, including the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and Simeon II National Movement of former king and prime minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg.
The press office of the socialists has denied disclosing on the exact topic of talks between leader Stanishev and the US envoy. However, local media remind that the leftist Coalition for Bulgaria preached withdrawal from Iraq, if they win June 25 elections.
Bulgaria has a 400-strong infantry contingent in Iraq as part of the US-led multinational coalition.
