Nearly 1,000 Bulgarian and 96 foreign journalists were accredited at the International Press Center in Sofia opened Friday for a three-day work during elections 2005.

Moreover, a total of 180 diplomats are expected to attend the Election Night at Sofia's National Palace of Culture.

The June 25 elections will be observed by twelve OSCE delegates, four representatives of OSCE, two missioners from the US National Democratic Institute and two representatives of the Russian non-governmental organization "Elections and Democracy".

Expectations are that some 2,500 people will be present at the Palace on the night of Saturday when political forces overcoming the winning 4% threshold will hold press conferences.

Sociological agencies will release first exit polls and estimations an hour after the official end of election day, at about 9 p.m.

The press conferences are scheduled to start with the first preliminary results announced by the Central Elections Commission, with each lasting 30 minutes and sequences with a 15-minute pause.

The elections 2005's International Press Center in Sofia will be opened until midday of June 26.
