Journalists from countries member of the European Union (EU) visited Bulgaria's National Bank (BNB) in an attempt to explore the country's economy.

The 20 journalists from Belgium, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia and Slovenia will stay in Bulgaria to April 20. They are in Bulgaria to explore the country's economy and business ahead of Bulgaria's EU entry.

During their BNB visit the journalists were acquainted with the work of the monetary council and its role for Bulgaria's economy.

BNB's Governor Ivan Iskrov presented to the journalists Bulgaria's progress on the path to EU accession. He also explained them the legal framework concerning the Central Bank's activities as well as Bulgaria's strategy en route to the Union.
