Armed Man Holds Hostage German Kids

An unidentified man armed with a knife has taken up to seven children hostage in a German house to the north west of the country.

Police say they have surrounded the house in Ennepetal, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Police surrounded the house on the edge of the town, which is located about 60 km northwest of Cologne.

According to German television, the man had seized the children hostage on a bus before moving them to the house. His motives are not yet known.

The children are reported to be aged 11 and 12.
