Cars in Bulgaria Drop in Number

Politics | February 10, 2005, Thursday // 00:00

The number of cars in Bulgaria has been decreasing because of the higher import fees and tightened environment-protection requirements.

Cars on record in January 2005 were about 3,100,000, as compared to 3,600,000 at the end of 2003, prees media said on Thursday.

A large part of those are said to be in capital Sofia, which has been overwhelmed by hectic car traffic for years.
