US Soldier Kidnapped in Iraq

Iraqi insurgents have kidnapped an American soldier in the Iraqi town of Samarra, north of Baghdad. The soldier has been sized Monday night by two armed men, Lt. Col. Mohammed Ahmed of Samarra police announced. The information has not yet been confirmed by the American military. US and Iraqi forces stormed Samarra, 62 miles north of Baghdad, in early October as part of the US-backed interim government's campaign to retake rebel areas before national elections scheduled for January.
