A new factory for bottling mineral water has opened doors in the village of Voditsa, north Bulgaria, as part of a large-scale investment program of Zlaten Lev Holding.
Deputy Prime Minister Plamen Panayotov inaugurated Saturday the new bottling facility, Voditsa Bottling, which will use the resources of the local spa spring, granted under a ten-year municipal concession.
According to preliminary estimates, the spa spring has a potential to gain about 30% market share of mineral water.
The investment program drilling the spa spring from a depth of 1,200m at a temperature of 44-45 degrees Celsius is planned to cost EUR 1 M and open 26 job places. This is Bulgaria's deepest spa spring explored.
Bulgaria has the biggest diversity of spa springs in Europe, with more than 1,000 kinds from about 250 wells, but only 3-4% of this national treasure is used for commercial purposes.
