The body of Kenneth Bigley, the British hostage who was killed last week, was dumped just south of Baghdad on Friday, Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV channel reported, citing sources close to the insurgency. Unidentified sources reported that Bigley's kidnappers killed him in the town of Latifiya, about 35 km (20 miles) southwest of Baghdad. The reports have not been independently confirmed. The British embassy said it had no information on the whereabouts of Bigley's body. In a separate development, a book of condolence opened in tribute to Kenneth Bigley was stolen from Birmingham Central Mosque. The Briton was kidnapped September 16 together with two Americans, Eugene Armstrong and Jack Hensley, who have since been beheaded.
