Boyan Radev, the prominent Bulgarian collector and sportsman, made a new donation to the National Museum of History in Sofia, adding to its expositions unique marble monuments from the Ancient Times and new royal icons.

The enriched exhibition at Boyan Radev Donations Hall was unveiled on Tuesday with a ceremony, attended by Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov.

This is the first time that connoisseurs of art and sports fans have the opportunity to see Radev's gold medals from the World and Olympic Games in Tokyo (1964), Mexico (1968), Toledo (1966) displayed in an exhibition that also marks his 60th anniversary.

It all started at the beginning of the 70's when the painter Stoyan Iliev presented Boyan Radev with the picture "A sitting girl" drawn in 1967. For nearly thirty years already Radev has been collecting the works of contemporary artists, icons and church plates from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as well as monuments from the Ancient Times.
