Bulgaria is steadily supporting Georgian army supplying it regularly with weapons and ammunition, the restive provinces South Ossetia's President Edward Kokoity told Utro.ru online edition.

Almost all shells bombing the territory of South Ossetia are made in Bulgaria, as well as the weapons used by Georgian military units and gangs, Kokoyti kept on attacking the Balkan country, which is currently presiding over the Organization for Security and Copperation in Europe (OSCE).

The conflict between Georgia and the autonomous province of South Ossetia, supported by Russia, has topped the agenda of Bulgarian OSCE Chairmanship headed by Foreign Minister Solomon Passy.

In the beginning of August, the Moscow Komsomoletz daily published an article claiming that Bulgarian weapons lot used to arrive in the port of Potti to arm Georgian army. The impressive quantity of 2,500 boxes of mortar shells, enough to destroy all Ossetian arsenal, was reportedly delivered to Georgians who in turn used it in their fight with Ossetian rebels.

Bulgarian officials denied the Russian press reports saying that the arms lot for Georgia includes "considerably less" weapons, though not specifying in numbers.

The region of South Ossetia broke from Georgia after a bloody war in the early 1990s and wants to be united with Russia. But Georgia's President Mikhail Saakashvili has vowed to bring it back into the fold.
