Bulgarian, Iraqi Diplomats Seek to Resolve Crisis

Politics | July 11, 2004, Sunday // 00:00

The two Bulgarian diplomats, who have arrived in Baghdad to facilitate the coordination between partner organizations in the hostage crisis, have held meetings at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The Bulgarian officials have been assured that the Iraqi Foreign Ministry does its utmost for a favourable outcome of the case.

The Iraqi government already has vowed its support, saying it was working with US-led troops to secure the release of all hostages, among whom are two Bulgarians.

Two Bulgarian truck drivers, held hostage by an Al-Qaeda-linked group, face a threat of execution unless US troops free Iraqi prisoners.
