US Tanks Enter Karbala

The death count in Iraq over the last 24 hours was high for insurgents: 21 in the Baghdad area, 16 near Amarah, and four in Karbala, where coalition troops and the Mehdi militia have been fighting for the last four days, coalition officials said Saturday.
A nearly 500-strong Bulgarian stabilization force patrols Iraq's second holiest Shiite city of Karbala, 80 kilometers (50 miles) south of Baghdad, as part of a multinational force under Polish command.
