Mortars have been fired at the Bulgarian camp near As-Suaira last night, Polish officials reported, saying that there were no casualties.

The information was later refuted by the Bulgarian Defence Ministry.

The reports come just a day after Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov paid an visit to the country's soldiers in Iraq. Parvanov's motorcade came under fire on his way to the Bulgarian Kilo base.

No one was injured in the attack.
