4 Injured in Moderate Quake in Turkey

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale early Wednesday shook the Bolu region of western Turkey injuring four people, first reports from the Anatolia news agency said. The injured hurt themselves jumping from balconies or windows, the agency said, adding that houses in Bolu had not been damaged but the inhabitants were spending the night outdoors. The quake hit a sparsely-inhabited mountain area halfway between Ankara and Istanbul at 12:47 am, causing panic among residents but no damage, Anatolia quoted the local governor as saying.
