Bodies of US Halliburton Contractors Found in Iraq, Mutilated

Four bodies have been found mutilated in Iraq, believed to be that of US contractors, who went missing last week.

Seven US contractors working for a Halliburton subsidiary were reported missing in Iraq on Friday following an attack by Iraqi resistance fighters on their convoy near Baghdad international airport.

The bodies were spotted in a ditch near the scene of the convoy attack, News Ru agency broke the news, citing a representative of the US State Department, speaking on condition of anonymity. According to the source the bodies have not been identified yet.

NBC News reported that the four bodies were in a shallow grave between Fallujah and Abu Ghraib and that U.S. officials were led to the grave by an Iraqi.

The State Department confirmed the discovery of the bodies, but the private contractor Halliburton said it did not know whether the dead were its missing employees.
