Poland will not withdraw its troops from Iraq, but could reduce its unit there.
Polish troops will remain in Iraq despite the escalating tension, Poland's Prime Minister Leszek Miller said on Tuesday.
Talking after a week of fighting with the radical Shiites General Bieniek, commander-in-chief of the international division, said that the situation in Iraq calms down though slowly. In his words tensions are still running high in the town of Najaf, where most of the foreigners were kidnapped over the last week.
Poles are not welcomed in Iraq, following last week's heavy battles, Polish analysts comment.
