President Georgi Parvanov and his Madagascar counterpart President Marc Ravalomanana expressed willingness to boost bilateral relations during their meeting in Sofia on Saturday.

The two sides agreed that there is untapped potential for developing trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Madagascar.

That was the first meeting at this level since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1976.

The President of Madagascar arrived to Bulgaria on a private visit for the engagement of his son to a girl from the Black Sea city of Burgas.
