Bulgaria, Romania Europe's Laggards in Internet Penetration

Bulgaria and Romania were ranked last in Internet penetration and usage of computers, a survey among all European Union (EU) candidates showed.

The news was broken by Bulgaria's Administration Minister Dimitar Kalchev. Just 15% of the Bulgarians had Internet access in the end of 2003.

Just a few days ago a survey revealed that households Internet penetration in Bulgaria is just 5%. It was also revealed that most of the Bulgarians would prefer to use the on-line media as it offers faster access to the latest news, it is much more comfortable and a lot cheaper.
