The remains of late Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski and the eight members of the Macedonian delegation, who were killed in a plane crash last week, were flown from Sarajevo to Skopje on Wednesday.

The coffins were wrapped in Macedonia's national flag. They were put on board a US Air Force plane after a brief ceremony at Sarajevo airport. A guard of honour received them in Macedonia's capital, Skopje.

Trajkovski's coffin was then driven to parliament, where he will lie in state until the funeral.

Trajkovski is expected to be buried on Friday with full state honors. Local media reported that the Macedonian authorities have asked Sofia to house some of the planes of the world leaders expected to attend the funeral ceremony of the late Macedonian President.

The main reason for that decision was the fact that the capacity of the Skopje Airport won't be enough for all people that are expected to come and bid farewell to Trajkovski. The planes carrying the VIP personalities will land in Macedonia and will be then transferred to Sofia, Belgrade and Thessaloniki.

The body of the Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski was identified on Monday by DNA analysis.

Trajkovski was declared missing and presumed dead after his plane came down between former frontlines in the 1992-95 Bosnian war, in an area of low hills between the towns of Mostar and Stolac.

President Trajkovski was en route to an economic conference.

According to a Wednesday report of Macedonian Utrinski Vesnik the plane of Prime Minister Branko Crvenkovski avoided a crash at the same location where Trajkovski died.
