Italian companies Air One and Volare have shown considerable interest for the privatization of Bulgaria's national flag carrier Bulgaria Air, it emerged Monday during talks between Transport Minister Nikolay Vassilev and Italy's Adolfo Urso, deputy minister for Productive Activities.

During the meeting in Sofia, Urso disclosed that Italy's premiere airline, Alitalia, wants four regular flights between Sofia and Milan every week. Vassilev then said that Bulgaria Air was planning to launch flights between those two cities.

Urso also voiced support for Sofia's ambitions to become the second largest air traffic center in Southeast Europe.
