9 Go to Jail over Unauthorized Archeological Digs

Nine Bulgarian treasure hunters were declared guilty of carrying out unauthorized excavations by a local court. They dug at an ancient Thracian burial mound in November 2002. The site is in the vicinity of Bulgaria's second largest city Plovdiv which thrived in the ancient times as Philippopolis - the city of Phillip the Macedonian. The treasure hunters used а shovel digger and a truck in the excavations.
