The Government will discuss removing visa fees for tourists from Russia and Ukraine. The decision will be enacted for a year starting from April 1 2003.

The organized tourists will pay just for a visa form at the price of USD 20.

The introduction of a visa regime triggered in 2002 a disturbing decrease of Russian tourists- 24,06%, while Ukrainian tourists dropped by 43,81%.

Twenty million Russians are expected to make trips abroad this year, which is up by three millions over last year, international tourism organizations reported. Russian market researches show that some 60% of these journeys will be in the summer.

A total of 2 992 590 foreigners visited Bulgaria as tourists last year. The incomes from international tourism are expected to be some USD 1 344 M.
