Portugal might invest in Bulgaria's infrastructure and electric power industry. Bulgarian Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg announced that during his three day visit there.

According to the prime minister, Portugal was also interested to invest in the Bulgarian pharmaceutical industry.

"It would be useful to tap Portugal's experience in economic development after its European Union accession. This country had a high unemployment in the 1970s, more than a million refugees from Africa, and now it looks radically different," Saxe-Coburg commented, quoted by the Bulgarian News Agency.

The Bulgarian prime minister met with Portuguese Economy Minister Carlos Tavares and presented to him Bulgarian Foreign Investment Agency President Pavel Ezekiev. Ezekiev met in Porto with the head of the Portuguese Investments Institute.

On Saturday evening and Sunday, Saxe-Coburg had meetings with members of the Portuguese business community, some of whom he knows personally. He discussed with them opportunities for investments in Bulgaria.
