Archaeologists discovered a unique Roman tomb near Greece's border with Bulgaria, AP reported.
The tomb harboured extraordinarily well preserved remains of ancient chariots and horses' bones older than 2,000 years.
The chariots were probably used to carry the bodies of the dead for cremation, the Greek archeologists said.
According to the head of the exploration works, the chariots embellished with gold and silver were buried together with their dead owners and the horses were killed during the funereal ceremony.
These finds are of great significance, as Greece has not yet witnessed the discovery of Roman articles of this kind, the scientists said. They started the expedition in the vicinity of the Bulgarian-Greek border a month ago.
