The National Geographic magazine has stated their intense interest in Bulgaria's archeological and historical landmarks at a meeting of the senior editors with the country's Foreign Minister Solomon Passy. According to the minister who is in New York for the session of the UN Security Council, Bulgaria's rich history and natural beauty make for a huge potential ideal for projects that National Geographic is interested in.
The magazine's senior editors briefed Bulgaria's top diplomat about the preparations for Bulgarian language edition of the National Geographic that have entered an active stage. Minister Passy wished success to the Bulgarian version and forecasted that it would hit big as Bulgarians were very eager to learn and boasted love for reading.
Some of the editors that had visited Bulgaria expressed their admiration for stunning Bulgarian nature. They also enthused about the minister's broad interests and invited him to join a National Geographic team during its Black Sea archeological expedition at Bulgaria's coast this summer. The exploration works will be headed by U.S. scientist Bob Ballard who last summer discovered the oldest shipwreck ever found in the Black Sea off Bulgarian coast.
