A bus with Bulgarian registration veered off its path, resulting in 11 injuries, two of which are reported to be severe
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stated that the EU must sign agreements on migrants with Egypt and Tunisia like the agreement already concluded with Turkey.
Merkel added that more funds should be spent on development in order to counteract effectively the main reasons causing migration.
In March, Brussels and Ankara signed an agreement on the return of illegal migrants to Turkey in exchange for financial aid and a promise to liberalise the visa regime.
As a result of this deal and the closing of the borders along the so-called Balkan route, the migrant flow from Greece decreased significantly.
But, according to international humanitarian organisations, there has been an increase in the number of migrants arriving through Italy over the last few months. These migrants come mainly from Libya.
