Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has reiterated Bulgaria’s consistent support for the European perspective of Serbia and the right of the Serbian citizens to be part of the European community.
Borisov has sent a letter to his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic, congratulating the Serbian premier for his election to the post, Serbian broadcaster RTS has reported.
“I take this opportunity to express my satisfaction with the recent contacts between the Bulgarian and Serbian state institutions, including talks on economic, infrastructural, security, and regional development matters," Borisov has said in the letter.
Only by deepening bilateral cooperation Bulgaria and Serbia can the two countries achieve the well-being of their two peoples, as well as peace and stability in Southeast Europe, Borisov has said, according to RTS.
Vucic won a snap election in April, pledging to pursue Serbia’s integration into the EU while maintaining close ties with Russia.
