Bulgaria: Bulgarian Authorities Detain 55 Illegal Immigrants, Two Smugglers

Bulgarian police detained two groups of illegal immigrants and two smugglers in the province of Burgas.

The origin and point of departure of the 55 people, who had illegally crossed the Bulgarian border, have not been identified yet, Darik radio informs.

The first group of 26 men was arrested near the village of Dragantsi, located in the municipality of Karnobat, while being transported by a 24-year-old trafficker from Sofia.

The second group consisting of 27 men, one woman and one child were detained near the village of Bratovo, located in the municipality of Kameno, while being transported by a 37-year-old trafficker from Harmanli.

The illegal immigrants have been taken to the Migration Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Burgas and will be accommodated at specialised housing.
