Home Sweet Home: The Reality of Housing in Bulgaria Revealed
New data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) sheds light on the housing landscape in Bulgaria, painting a picture of the majority of Bulgarians residing in older homes.
Players from FC Ashdod (Israel) were chased from the pitch by Bulgarian football fans during a match with CSKA Sofia played in Bulgaria's capital on Sunday.
Ashdod was leading 1-0 in the very last minutes of the game. At the time two Israeli players had been handed the red cards over foul play.
But a third incident that resulted in a third card for an Israeli footballer infuriated Bulgarian fans who flocked to the playground, causing panic among the opposing team with its players fleeing the pitch and opting for Sector B where police stood in front of them to stop the rush of CSKA supporters.
An Ashdod player was reportedly left injured after being hit in the head with a glass bottle, Israeli website Arutsh Sheva reported citing SI.com.
The information is not present in most Bulgarian media outlets, but the news website Dnevnik.bg says there are fears the Israeli coach might have been hurt.
CSKA fans are among the groups known for sometimes brutal action toward players or supporters of opposing teams.
The incident, however, also comes as CSKA is going through tough times, buried in financial problems and strapped of a license to play in Bulgaria's Premier League.
