Flash Estimates Show Bulgarian GDP Increased in First Quarter of 2015

Bulgaria: Flash Estimates Show Bulgarian GDP Increased in First Quarter of 2015 File photo

According to flash estimates of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Wednesday, the Bulgarian GDP increased in the first quarter of 2015.

The figures show that GDP registered an increase of 2 % in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter of 2014.

The Bulgarian GDP amounted to BGN 17.141 B, which was a growth of 0.9 % compared to the last quarter of 2014.

The greatest contribution to the economic growth, which was registered in the first quarter, was due to the exports of goods and services.

The figures showed that export and import of goods and services increased with respectively 9.1 % and 4.9 %

NSI is expected to gather and publish the official data on the GDP for the first quarter of 2015 on June 5.
