Cloaked Aid: Ukraine's Covert Deployment of US Missiles Against Russia
Reports confirm that Ukraine has deployed long-range ballistic missiles provided by the United States in secret, targeting Russian forces in occupied territories
Lowcost airlines easyJet, Air Transat and Norwegian Air Shuttle have announced a change in the rules for pilots during flights.
According to the rule amendments, there should always be two crew members in the cockpit. Whenever one of the pilots needs to leave, the main air hostess will substitute them.
The measures enter into force Friday, as announced by AFP information agency.
''We have been discussing that for a long time but since the events of the past few days, the decision has been sped up,'' stated Tomas Hesthammer, director of the Norwegian airline Hesthammer in an intervie for AFP.
Currently, EU regulations do not pose a definite requirement for two crew members to be present in the cockpit at all times. Only the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) can take the decision to amend the law on EU level.
The decision of the lowcost companies comes a day after the dicovery that the tragic accident with a Germanwings plane has most probably been caused deliberately by one of the pilots on the plane.
The security measure has been imposed for years now in the US after the terrorist attack in the US on September 11, 2001, when a plane crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.
The requirement has also been implement in Bulgaria several years ago.
''The cabin door can only be opened using a code from the inside,'' said aviation expert Aleksandar Mladenov, quoted by bTV news. ''The camera right above it shows who is right standing on the other side, but only the person already inside can decide whether they will let them in. Once the code is enetered in the system, there is a 20-second beeping sound. During that time the pilot decides whether to allow the other person inside. After September 11, a new requirement was implemented stating that the doors need to be further ensured and stabilized so that the possibility for their bombing is excluded.''
