This became evident from the latest figures of Eurostat, which were released on Monday.
The figures show that the unemployment rate in Bulgaria steadily decreased in the past year from 12.6 % in January 2014.
For this period the number of unemployed people in Bulgaria decreased from 424 000 to 367 000.
At the EU level, the lowest unemployment rates in January were recorded in Germany and Austria, while Greece and Spain had the highest.
In January the unemployment rate decreased in 24 member states, remained stable in Belgium and increased in Cyprus, Finland and France.
The largest drops in the unemployment rate in January were registered in Spain, Estonia and Ireland.
The unemployment rate in EU28 has steadily declined over the past year from 10.6 % in January 2014.
The unemployment rate in the Euro area stood at 11.2 % in January, which is the lowest since April 2012.
Youth unemployment in Bulgaria in January stood at 22.6 %, which is a slight increase with 0.3 % compared to December 2014.
Over the past year the number of unemployed people aged between 15 and 24 years has decreased with 10 000.
Youth unemployment also continued to decrease in the EU, amounting to 21.2 % in January, which is a decrease of 0.1 % compared to December 2014.
The lowest unemployment rates were registered in Germany, Austria and Denmark, while Spain, Greece, Croatia and Italy had the highest rates.
Unemployment remains higher among men than women in Bulgaria, while the opposite trend is observed in the EU28.
