A Turkish delegation headed by the country’s Chief Prosecutor, Hasan Erbil, is to arrive in Bulgaria on an official three-day visit at the invitation of Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov.
The delegation includes Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Hadi Salihoglu and other prosecutors.
During the visit, the members of the delegation are to meet with Bulgaria’s Chief Prosecutor, the Justice Minister and representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council (VSS) and the Specialized Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, according to a media statement of the prosecuting authority.
The schedule includes a visit to Plovdiv, where the delegates will meet with prosecutors from the local Appellate Prosecutor’s Office and the District Prosecutor’s Office and with Bulgaria’s Interior Minister.
The visit of the Turkish delegation to Bulgaria is a continuation of a series of meetings planned at the signing of the cooperation agreement between the prosecuting authorities of the two countries.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Sotir Tsatsarov and Hasan Erbil during a working visit of Bulgaria’s Chief Prosecutor to Turkey in early June 2014.
The agreement envisages the organization of working meetings, regular trainings of prosecutors from the two countries, periodic consultations and cooperation on requests for legal assistance.
