Kosovo PM Warns Against Crimea Comparisons
Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci warned against making parallels between Crimea and Kosovo.
"Under no circumstances can the cases of Kosovo and Crimea be compared. We didn't change any borders, we had our borders already. Kosovo was also created after a genocide was committed by Serbia, after the deportation of 1 million citizens of Kosovo", Thaci told Business New Europe magazine.
The Kosovar PM added that his country was created in the context of post-war negotiations, something which is utterly different from the situation in Ukraine.
Thaci's comments come as a response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement that the West had created a precedent in Kosovo for the secession of other autonomous regions, like Crimea.
Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008. It has been recognized by 107 out of the 193 UN member states, but not by Russia.

Explain how Kosovo is illegal when under the Yugoslavian Constitution it was declared that Kosovo had every right as the other provinces. When Kosovo voted on secession after the fall of Yugoslavia, which passed by 98%, Serbia stripped it of its autonomous status and started to commit its plan for Ethnic Cleansing? Now please explain?
Crimea also had its own borders within Ukraine and was a semi autonomous republic, just as Kosovo was. If there was genocide in Kosovo it was as much the Albanians against the Serbs as the other way around. And Serbs didn't force the Albanians out - they left of their own volition to give the US a decent excuse to bomb the Serbs and get revenge for failing to help the Bosnians.

Good point Behemoth, and the Turks in Kardzhali, Haskovo and Rhodope should also have a referendum, the Chechens, Dagestanis and the Chinese in Russia, the Tibetans of course and everyone that wants to be free or join any other nation they desire. And also we should demand Russia recognize Kosovo immediately!
