“We Are Witnessing a Democratic Revolution in Ukraine”, Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev wrote in his official Twitter account on Monday.

In a series of tweets, commenting on the situation in Ukraine, Plevneliev said it was of the highest importance that Ukraine remains whole and conducts open and fair elections.

According to Plevneliev, it was very important that a government of national reconciliation be set up.

“For months the Ukrainian people have struggled against a regime, which did not hesitate to cause bloodshed and attack its own people”, Plevneliev wrote in Twitter. “I hope that we shall never again witness such scenes and bloodshed in Ukraine.”

Are we witnessing a revolution? Everyone declaring European standards? Whatever those might be. BG is not even periphery for the paymasters in Brussels but the ass. So who cares? But Ukraine now there's a big country that they want to influence but not admit as a member. At least, and despite all the messages of aid and support, according to officials in Germany, France, UK, the Netherlands and Spain. If those countries say no, it won't happen anytime soon. BG is small and insignificant compared to Urkaine. The EU can deal with BG even though BG has set a precedent of constantly failing. They don't want to repeat the same mistake on a larger scale. Ukraine is simply too big, too complex and too divided to have an EU future anytime soon.

Sasha, Bulgaria hasn't been a real sovereign state since the middle ages.

Sasha, it's not criticizing BG leaders but small country politicians who kiss ass to whoever is a power.

Plevniev is a scripted doll, smirky little weasel, distrusted him from the start.

speak is silver silence is gold, too bad short sighted scummy politicians cannot see this...

Democracy in Ukraine? It's the complete opposite, it's a coup, xenophobia and appointing people left n right with no elections (bribing each other for positions), passing laws ignoring old and new constitution both. Russian parliamentarians beaten, intimidated, their families threatened. How else do they pass ressolutions 300-0 ? Tymoshenko the "gas princess" who murdered people, lets put a killer oligarch in power, that will fix corruption? Lol?

Also banning Russian language, fascists demand that churches change allegiance? Regular 19th century Balkans "democracy" more like it...

Kiev is sliding down into the abyss while the fools in the west cheer them on.

Sevastopol says its no longer part of ukraine n wont pay taxes, southern n eastern ukraine is set to follow. They have the economic machine, the resources, the lands, the coast, over a thousand years of Russian history n some feral mongrels in Kiev should tell them what to do? Pfft. Ukraine is history, should have been divided long ago.

I do not like GERB but I respect Presidenr Rosen Plevneliev because he is a political fighter.

He is badly let down now by GERB who are just a bunch of lazy cowards, but as President he is providing active opposition which the GERB MPs in Parliament are not doing.
