Sofia University students and lecturers are still unable to enter the occupied building of the Rectorate.

The University gates have been chained by a group of students. All classes have been suspended.

Some of the locked out students and lecturers have dispersed, while others reacted very strongly to the illegal actions of the university occupiers.

Police have started gathering near the university building, Bulgarian OffNews reported.

A dispute between occupiers and students caused tension at one of the university gates. Two students jumped over the chained fence of the Rectorate claiming they had classes to attend. Several police officers in Anti-conflict vests were seen near the university, media reported.

The illegal occupation of the Sofia University main building might hinder the upcoming examinations.

Earlier Monday, University President prof. Ivan Ilchev said he has referred the case to the prosecution, due to the illegal occupation of public state property.

Saturday citizens launched a second occupation of the Sofia University Rectorate after an October-November occupation staged by students.

Both protest actions called for resignation of Bulgarian PM Plamen Oresharski, dissolution of Parliament and early elections.
