Bulgaria's Economy Grows by 1.8% in 2023
The National Statistical Institute (NSI) has released preliminary data revealing that Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) experienced a modest growth of 1.8% in real terms in 2023
Bulgaria's seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased by 0.2% in November 2013 as compared to October 2013, according to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).
In November 2013, the work day adjusted industrial production index rose by 2.8% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
In November 2013, as compared to October 2013, the seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased by 0.4% in the manufacturing, while decreases were registered in the mining and quarrying industry - by 1.8% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 0.8%.
The most significant increases of production in manufacturing were registered in the manufacturing of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture; manufacturing of articles of straw and plaiting materials - by 10.8%, in the manufacturing of clothing apparel - by 7.6%, in the manufacturing of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by - 5.2%, in the manufacturing of chemicals and chemical products - by 4.1%, in the manufacturing of electrical equipment - by 4.0%.
There was decrease in the manufacturing of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment - 13.3%, in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment by - 12.2%, in the manufacturing of computer, electronic and optical products - by 6.3%, in the manufacturing of other transport equipment - by 5.7%.
On annual basis, in November 2013 the industrial production index, calculated from work day adjusted data, increased in the mining and quarrying industry - by 28.4% and in manufacturing - by 4.7%, while in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, a decrease of 11.4% was registered.
In manufacturing, the more significant increases, compared to the same month of the previous year, were seen in the manufacturing of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers - by 17.9%, in the manufacturing of paper and paper products - by 16.8%, in the manufacturing of other transport equipment - by 14.6%, in the manufacturing of machinery and equipment - by 13.3%, in the manufacturing of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations - by 12.9%, in the manufacturing of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment - by 12.2%.
Decreases were registered in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment - by 29.8%, in the printing and reproduction of recorded media - by 10.5%, in the manufacturing of leather and related products - by 3.4%.
