Bulgaria: 80% of Bulgarians Demand Early Elections – Poll File photo

The vast majority of Bulgarians want early elections to take place, according to a new poll.

The poll conducted by Alpha Research shows that 41% of Bulgarian nationals demand early elections immediately, while 39% prefer to cast their ballots in the spring of 2014.

A mere 19% would like to see the embattled Socialist-led government finish its full four year-term in office.

The cabinet of Prime Minister Plamen Oreharski was formed at the end of May 2013 – but the shocking appointment of a shady businessman and MP as head of the powerful State Agency for National Security triggered massive protests just two weeks later. The appointment of media mogul Delyan Peevski was quickly revoked, but the anti-graft protests are still ongoing, albeit smaller in number.

The Alpha Research poll has shown that the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party and the opposition center-right GERB are tied in public support, with the left-wingers being slightly ahead (16.4%, compared with GERB’s 15.8%).

The recently established right-wing Reformist Bloc would come third with 6.9%, followed by the liberal Movement for Rights and Freedoms (6.1%), according to the pollsters.

Who made up this piece of crap?

Obiviously looking for a prize for a work of fiction.

Get real, elections cost money, the last elections were just a few months ago and if new elections were held the same people would be in government.

So new elections and the government resigning is pointless.

I agree with voter the guy who wrote this got drunk in a GERB frequented bar and Agent Picadilly is right pollsters like these should be closed down.

Not even 50% of the people allowed to vote really vote...

So that 80% of Bulgarians is a bit of a strange conclusion, isn't it?

Maybe from the total of 10 people they questioned, 8 want this. Probably it was in the local GERB bar in Sofia.

This latest opinion poll is fake and obviously paid for by GERB - the regime has been democratically elected and a majority of Bulgarians support PM Orisharsky as the recent petition proves. Alpha Research should be forced to stop trading.
