Turkey and the EU have signed a Readmission Agreement, in return for a visa-free travel for Turkish citizens in three years' time.

The Readmission Agreement obliges Turkey to accept illegal immigrants who enter the EU via Turkey, writes the Hurriyet Daily.

In return, Turkish citizens will be able to travel without visas in the EU in 3 years.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, EU Minister Egemen Bagi?, Interior Minister Muammer G?ler and European Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom all participated in the signing ceremony in Ankara.

Turkey and the EU Commission have been negotiating over the agreement for the last two years.
