Anti-government protesters have toppled a monument of Lenin in central Kiev.

The demonstrators reportedly pulled down and decapitated the statue of the Russian revolutionary leader on Shevchenko Blvd.

The protesters chanted "Freedom will come and bring order," around the fallen monument, as a group of young people threw gas bombs, according to the UNIAN news agency.

Police headed to the site.

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people are protesting in Kiev's Independence Square against the decision of President Viktor Yanukovich and his government to back out of a strategic deal with the EU and seek closer ties with Russia.

Alas, you may say the CIA was created in 1947 but my little birds [(la cage a foile my dear Mavro) of course it's him with the moustache that appears in my bedside each night after je bois toute la bouteille du Beefeater bien súr] ...oh la lá...they tell me that it was them.....They were behind that and Trotsky's hacking and even "Uncle Joe" was in their payroll....the maggots....they really do control all (or so the birds say)............And now what to expect Mavro....Of course....the protestors....those ungrateful bit**es, now want USA/'s the microchips Mavro I tell you......the little birds tell me they implant them through the water (l'eau bien sur)......So the whole world is now dominated by that conspiracy of NSA/CIA/EU.......oh la lá at least Vlad has his own water plant and remains true....Patriotic....Humanity? ...interesting question, Mavro. Imho, ALL monuments to Lenin and his followers ought to be dismantled, dismantled in Russia, but not in Ukraine! Just Lenin was the first one who clearly stated: "The independence of Ukraine has been recognised both by the All-Russia Central Executive Committee of Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic and by the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks). It is therefore self-evident and generally recognised that only the Ukrainian workers and peasants themselves can and will decide whether Ukraine shall amalgamate with Russia, or whether she will remain a separate and independent republic"( December,28,1919).
Further, in 1922 the same Lenin "presented" the Russian Donbass to Ukraine. Then, in 1939-1940, the Lenin' follower Stalin occupied the parts of Polish, Czechoslovakia, Romania' lands(Eastern Galitsya, Volyin, Zakarpatye,
Podolya, Nothern Bukovina, i.e. all what is called now "Western Ukraine") and joined those "parts" to Ukraine.
And, finally, in 1954, another "hero", Nikita Khruschev, gave Russian Crimea, yeah, to Ukraine again.............
Think those poor brainwashed young people, who have earned no one cent yet neither for themselves nor for their parents and relatives, who don't know History of their own State, who furiously call for signing "marriage contact" with EU and who have no smallest idea about the content of that "contact", yes, I think that these
youth pave today their own way, but it's hardly the way to their OWN better future.
