Bulgaria marked Friday evening the 14th anniversary of US President William (Bill) Clinton's historic visit to the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

The US Embassy reminds that on the evening of November 22, 1999, the President delivered a memorable speech in front of thousands of Bulgarians at Alexander Nevski Square in downtown Sofia.

On his two-day visit to Bulgaria, President Clinton pledged long-term US support for Bulgaria's developing democracy, saying earlier that day, "We are committed to supporting Bulgaria over the long run -- economically, politically, militarily, and I think we will be doing it for many years."

Caliguy, I am neither republican nor democrat and happily not American. I just don't like slimy sleazebags like Clinton; in fact Bill and Hill so deserve eachother, they're both cut from the same cloth and I wouldn't trust either one of them to even "lie straight in bed".

Maybe you should fondly remember who your leaders are. We Americans got Clinton. You Bulgarians got , well you know what you got. By the way who was the 1st Bg president or PM to come to the USA.

This is not news.

However, Bill Clinton was an intelligent, manipulative politican who got what he wanted, that is politics and he was really good at it.

A sex-obsessed jerk who preyed on the naive, a smile on legs with lies tripping out of his mouth - I, like everyone thinking person in Bulgaria, have spent the week-end fondly recalling our good fortune in having such a paragon spare a few moment from his Jolly Rogering to grace us with his presence.

He was very lucky to have had Hilary to work the glove-puppet that was pretending to be a President....

2010 Gallup poll found Bill Clinton the 3rd most popular former president. Hardly disgraced. You must be a republican.

And who gives a rat's *** about this? He visited Bulgaria 14 years ago, big deal!!! He and his trip is totally irrelevant in 2014. Novinite, you obviously have too much time on your hands to be idolising Clinton ( a disgraced former US President). Move on and grow up, there are more pressing issues in BG to be focusing on NOW.

"We are committed to supporting Bulgaria over the long run -- economically, politically, militarily, and I think we will be doing it for many years." - it was well said, Billy! Just The Great King' wisdom! Training muslim terrorists at the
Great King's base (on the territory of BG and with Bulgarians as the hired help ), isn't that nice!? And what is Your goal, King? Oh, it's a big secret. Still Bulgaria's "role" is honorable and enviable.....Почётна и завидна Ваша роль!
