The Bulgarian Socialists set themselves for such failure that now they cannot even stage a rally on their own, says former Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.
Borisov, who is also the leader of the formerly-ruling center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, addressed a large number of supporters, bused from all over the country, to attend a partisan rally in Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv.
He thanked the participants and apologized to other Plovdiv residents for the inconvenience and promised the rally will not be long.
"We organized our meeting today in Plovdiv, because there is a football derby in the capital Sofia, protesting students, and, of course, a protest in support of the Socialist government," Borisov explained.
"GERB is a party with its own cause, and the only obstacle before the Bulgarian Socialist Party, BSP. I have prevailed over their leader Sergey Stanishev 10 times now. They cannot even stage their own rally and need the help of brother Dogan (Ahmed Dogan, honorary lifetime Chairman of liberal predominantly ethnic Turkish party, Movement for Rights and Freedoms, DPS – editor's note) to arrange for trains to bring supporters," concluded the former PM.
He blasted his successor, Plamen Oresharski, for attending a partisan rally of the Socialists, all while boasting that he was independent, and saying State servants attending protests should be fired.
He was met with thundering applause and shouts "Boyko!"
The public radio reported at 2 pm Saturday that the rally has already ended, and people have dispersed without any incidents occurring.
