Bulgaria stands behind Turkey's bid to become a full member of the European Union, stated Buglarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin.
Sunday Vigenin is on an official trip to Turkey, where he met Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.
"Bulgaria supports Turkey's application of membership into the EU. We are happy with the decision for opening of negotiation chapter 22," said the Bulgarian top diplomat, as quoted by CNN Turk.
"We consider it is necessary to speed up activities on the preparation of a roadmap for EU visa liberalization regarding Turkish citizens," added Vigenin.
Within bilateral relations, the Bulgarian top diplomat singled out energy and transport infrastructure.

Yeah right - a "European" state busily tearing down everything that Ataturk stood for and replacing it with creeping Islamisation, and petulance that it's not in the EU despite being in the wrong continent and denying its genocidal present and past. So it's doing well economically - does that mean that the US, Australia, China and Japan should be in the EU also?
Turkey's fine as it is - it doesn't need the EU and the EU certainly has no need of Turkey or its medieval mind-set....
I love all the nationalists here yet I bet none of them live in BG. Always blame anyone and everyone but never yourselves for your problems. Even though I'm not a Turk, go to Turkey and see how much more European it is than any current Balkan EU member state. You'd be surprised. Or maybe you know, you just hate admitting it. ;)
"Ridiculous, Turkey (apart from a small part geographically) has never been part of Europe, it's alphabet, religion, culture are all completely different. What comes after Turkey........Iran, Afghanistan? where do you draw the line?"
Sounds a bit like another country close to Turkey .
So let us kick out Bulgaria and Greece as well .
BULGARIA FOR BULGARIANS !!!!!!
and they can keep it ;)
