Ukraine's military announced the destruction of a Russian Tu-22 strategic bomber, allegedly involved in nighttime airstrikes targeting Ukrainian cities
Ten parachutists and a pilot are feared to have died after the plane they were in crashed shortly after taking off in Belgium.
The plane had just lifted into the air from Temploux aerodrome, near Namur, but came down about ten minutes later in a field, according to local authorities.
The plane’s wing appeared to have suffered some damage, Belgian media report.
"I just saw a plane lose its right wing in mid-flight and crash. I heard a massive 'bang' towards the south of Marchovelette," a witness has told Belgian television, according to the BBC.
Elio di Rupo, the Belgian Prime Minister, has sent his condolences to the victims.
